YAYZ YOU FINALLY POSTED!! YOU ATE YER POSTIES HOORAH! www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJtE0Ij7jisChapter 24 >>>part two<<< Step Up
We entered the room that G was normally in. There were TV and computer screens all centered around one chair where a dusty keyboard sat, plain, black, nothing really special. One orange light shone through the dust. "Okay, how we do this is that we pick up this," Near picked up the radio speaker, and I took it from his hand and looked him in the eye. "Just because my father just died any my judgement may be a bit clouded doesn't mean that I'm stupid. I know how to work it." I pressed the button on the side. It wasn't automatically channeled, and looked around for a piece of paper with the channel codes. When I found it underneath the keyboard, I picked out the coordinates that G was supposed to be at and inserted the number on the radio speaker. The static went away. I tried talking into it. "G, are you there?" Nothing. "You there?" A few mumbles, at least he was waking up. "Get up!" I shouted into the remote. The time difference meant that where he was, it was nine o'clock. What a lazy ass! Gawd. He finally managed to pinpoint the radio and spoke into it. "Sheesh, sorry for being alive." "I have a few questions. Are you anywhere close to where my Dad...died?" It was a struggle to accept that my Dad was dead, even after the funeral. It was just so hard to think of your own dad as dead at eighteen, going on nineteen... A few rustles, a bump, and I heard G curse something. "Stupid cabinet..." He was getting dressed. Of course. He picked up the remote and said, "Just a second." He sounded agitated. After about thirty seconds later--yeah, I counted, this was important to me--he replied with, "Yeah, it's just down the hall." His voice was slurred with sleepiness. Figures, can't trust guys ever. "Is someone in the room?" "Gawd, why can't I sleep in every once and a while? Let me go and get on my pants..." I made a coughing noise deep in the back of my throat. He either didn't hear it, or heard it and ignored it. After a few minutes, I heard him plodding down the stairs. His breath was heavy in the radio. Why was he holding it so close to his face, sheesh? A bit muted, I heard him ask the receptionist, "Is there anyone in room 72?" "No." "No, there isn't anyone in the room. Can I go back to sleep now?" "No, you can't. Ask the receptionist if it's ok for you to go in there and look around. Show her your badge or something." "Badge?" "Just tell her that it's important." "Yeah, sure, whatever." Muted again: "Can I have the key to room 72? It's important, I work for Interpol." "Do you have proof?" He swore under his breath, and I heard a few coins rumbling in his pocket. Apparently he found some proof. The lady at the front desk said, "Ok, here it is." Then, a few seconds later, there was only a "huff-puff, huff-puff" to be heard. This guy was out of shape. I wondered how his back felt. It must have felt weird to be handicapped for a while, then be completely cured. Freaky, huh? A click was to be heard, then the door squeaking. "Okay, what do I need to do in here?" "Does anything look out of the ordinary?" "Other than the fact that the cleaning lady hasn't fixed up the bed or given him fresh towels?" "Um, yeah." Duh. "Look at the bed, between the sheets?" A few seconds later, "No." "In the bathroom?" He sighed. "What's the point in doing this?" "It's important, just do it." A little bit of shuffling to what I had to infer was G looking underneath the sink. "Nope, nothing." "Look in the air vents." Another sigh. I looked at Near nervously. He asked me, "Would you tell him I said hi?" I looked at him in disbelief. "'Hi'? What the hell is that?" "What? It's something to pass the time..." That's when I heard the shock in G's voice. "My god." A pause. "You all need to get down here as soon as possible. Do you understand me?" My face turned pale. My assumptions were correct! Me and Near both nodded, but realizing that G couldn't see us, we both said, "We're on our way." As soon as I put the radio speaker back on the hook and replaced the note with the channel codes, Matsuda trotted in. "Hey, you all, what are you doing?" Me and Near walked on out, and I grabbed his arm and explained things. At the end, I added, "Pack your bags, sweetheart, we're heading back out, and it's gonna be a while."

Be glad it wasn't 11. And G works for Interpol, the whole Task Force does. Just wanted to say that.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw-LVpqu2JIChapter 25 Thoughts
We were on the plane ride back to where my father died...er, was killed. I had some time to think about things. To my right sat Near, trying to stack some tarot cards, but having them fall every single time. To my left sat Matsuda. He held my hand and rubbed it every so often. He didn't like to see me in pain, I knew that, I just wish that it didn't affect him as badly as it affected me. He really loved me. I didn't deserve a guy like him. But then I thought, Hey, what if this entire thing is just a diversion to get us away from catching the second Kira? But, no, I don't think so. We'd be able to tell if these guys were in contact with the second Kira. Or the first, for that matter. They weren't that easy to figure out. If they were in contact with any Kira, we'd know because they wouldn't have done something so stupid. Plus, I don't think that Kira would be dumb enough to tell a whole bunch of people that he was Kira. The secret would be revealed by now. Unless, of course, Kira knew that I would have these kind of thoughts and talk to a whole group of people about the Death Note. It's like reverse psychology, doing the exact opposite of what somebody would expect to get what you want. Wait, now I was just confusing myself. How did this end up on reverse psychology? I looked up into Matsuda's face. He was looking at me, gazing into me with those dark eyes. When I looked at him, his eyes met mine and hung there for a single moment, before I dropped my eyes and looked at my lap. This was all too much for a kid like me. It seemed like forever since I'd had to go to school, but I knew that it wasn't that long. I looked at Near. He ignored me, playing with his cards. He groaned when they fell once again. The handcuff rattled against the plastic arm rest. I looked back at Matsuda. His eyes were questioning. I knew that look. It was the kind that a dog gave you after it was scolded. What's wrong? What happened? Is something wrong? I hated it. I had to look away. God, I felt like Near. Hiding my emotions all the time these days. I felt like crying, but knew it would make a scene. It's just not cool for people to show much emotion in public these days. When you get home, yeah, you can eat your heart out for all we care, but until then, just get the heck outta the way. Maybe that was what Near was taught. But still. Back to this Kira thing. I think that the likely situation would be that one of the Kiras wrote down my Dad's name, seeing him out in public somewhere and realizing that he was on the task force somehow, and that awful group took up the whim. Or maybe I was just crazy and this whole thing was a total mess-up and we need to keep on looking into the second Kira's trail. But still. It had to be important, whatever G found.Gregory. Greg...did he even know that I knew his name? Scary. If he knew, that could just worsen my case. I decided to keep my mouth shut. I looked back over at Near. He seemed to finally have gotten the hang of things. All of a sudden, the pilot came on over the intercom: "Please fasten your seatbelts, we're going through some minor turbulence and should be back to smooth sailing here in a few minutes." Near paid no attention to him, of course, just smiling and stacking more and more cards up high. I put on my seatbelt, and so did Matsuda. The entire plane bumped, and Near flew up in his seat. The cards went everywhere, landing all over the people around us. Near starting cursing. I looked at him again. He didn't look like he was sixteen! He just hadn't hit his growth spurt yet...or had he? Creepy. My eyelids were heavy. I rested my head on Matsuda's shoulder and closed my eyes. I quietly heard him lean his head over mine. But after that, I konked out. The ding of the sign that told us to fasten our seatbelts woke me up when we were landing. I sighed and without a word, got off the plane. Matsuda and Near weren't very talkative either, as you can imagine. My father's death still clouded over them a bit.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqU0VTs0g1kFiller 2 Explanations
So...you all must be wondering by now, why the crap G's still at the hotel that my dad died in. Well, the answer is quite simple. The FBI have decided that after my dad's weird death, they have to check out every single hotel before we go into it, to make sure it's clean for threats of our safety, which I personally think is stupid. What if the building catches fire or something? Well, the hotel was already checked out, and so, we decided to put G in there. Even though it must have been super creepy, he didn't complain. He knows when to pick his fights. Plus, with the economy these days, the FBI can't afford to do more than one hotel at a time. Honestly, even if they're doing this, we can die. Car accidents, fire, stabbed, shot...carbon monoxide...et cetera...
Yeah, tons of stuff could happen to us. But the guy up top thought otherwise apparently, and has decided to do all he can to protect us, even if it spends tons more taxpayers' money. Pretty re-tard-o if you ask me.
By the time I'm done thinking outside the fourth wall, we should be at the hotel. G will be inside, waiting with whatever it was that he found for us. I don't know why he could have just told us over the phone. Pretty weird if you ask me. But I'm not thinking like myself. Everything's changed me...
There was Ben, then Zatsubo, and all those other people...this stuff sucks. If I could, I would walk out the door right now and never look back. But I can't. It's personal now. And when it's personal...I search out whoever did it and get payback.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=obhdTlImFBoChapter 26 Present
G was in the lobby when we arrived. He looked a bit pale. I wondered if it was the fact that people had died here recently or what he had found. I hoped that it was the fact that people had died here. But, of course, either way, I was scared out of my guts. The climb up the stairs was laborious and complicated, as the stair case would sprout off into different parts of the hotel. After we reached what seemed to be the end of the maze, G unlocked the very room my father had died in and entered it. An ominous presence pushed against all of my senses, telling me to go back. My mind bristled, but I kept going. G had gone in the bathroom, leaving the door open. While he was in there, presumably getting what he wanted to show us, I looked around the room. The dark green, plush, solid bed was already made. The light blue walls beyond it stared quietly back at me, staring into my very soul with the same hatred that killed my father. Over at the desk, there was a leather computer chair that Near had already taken a seat in. He stared up at me with those big, dead eyes, playing and twirling his hair. I hear a rattling, both from the bathroom and the hand cuff's chain as I sat down on the bed. I sniffed the air. It smelled like laundry detergent. The bed creaked underneath me as I shifted on it. This is one of those coincidences when a woman becomes extremely emotional. We have no real idea why, but we think sad thoughts and end up crying. My eyes stung with large, wet tears that I refused to let flow. Not in front of Near, not in front of Matsuda, not in front of anyone. I would show how injured I was. Damn whoever did this to me! Damn them! Damn Kira! Just before I couldn't hold my tears back any longer, I heard G grunt something, then yell, "Come in here, guys!" Reluctantly, Near got up, followed by me. I avoided eye contact with him. The bathroom had the same light blue walls, and the towels were an even darker, richer green than the bed spread. Even the shower curtain was green. Matsuda stared at them incomprehensibly, his eyes lost in the atmosphere. G was standing on his knees up on top of the sink. It was just another that stem cell research paid off. Just imagine...without it, G would be stuck in a wheelchair, left to degrade slowly in his own home. Left to suffer a life of limited mobility...and yet, here he is, doing what anyone can do. His face was stuck in the air vent, which he had pried open. The actual vent was lying on the floor. G must have said something, but it was lost to me in the echoing tunnels of the air conditioning system instead of coming clearly to Matsuda, Near, and I. I could imagine someone passing by, hearing it and becoming totally bewildered. "Repeat yourself, G." Near commanded impatiently. G first stepped down off the counter first. He brushed his hands off. "Take a look, there's a present up there for you." I looked at him like he was crazy, but he looked back in total seriousness. All sorts of crazy ideas ran through my head: a bomb, poison, maybe even a hint to finding the Death Note along with the second Kira. Everyone seemed to question with their eyes, but only Near decided to take action. He climbed up stealthily onto the counter. I lifted my arm to enable him to reach inside and grab whatever it was while still keeping his balance. He climbed down, holding a little wrapped box. Red wrapping paper, green ribbon. Iconic Christmas-time look. I never knew that it was a real present.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cgq5e9fQBAChapter 27 Note
The tiny box was small enough to fit in Near's palm, shining as bright as it would at Christmas. Eyes alight, I spilled out the words,"Well, go ahead! Open it!" Near held up his finger, his eyes not leaving the box. Our chain rattled once again. "No. Not now. We open it at Headquarters." Enraged, I shouted. "No! We came all the way out here! Open it here, or I'll open it myself! I've had enough waiting. Why in the world would we need to open it at HQ?!?" Near glared at me. "Simple reasons." He said with the most emotin I'd heard him release. "There are innocent bystanders in the vicinity. Should whatever is in here be dangerous, they may be in harm's way." "But what if it's not?! What if it's a clue as to who killed my Dad?!" I cried out in frusteration; would Near ever understand? "Why can't we just open it out in some field?" "There could be an inhalant poison. It would poison the entire world." "It would poison it anyway!" Near looked at me straight and plain. I could feel hatred rubbing off of every single inch of his body. "We do it at HQ. No ifs, ands, or buts. Let's go." Of course, I was enraged. But I could do anything about it. Opposing Near any more might get me kicked off the force, and should that happen, my father's death might never be avenged.
* * * The same, plain, borish white walls boxed me in, as they always had. The same that I looked at every single day. The same that I might have to work within for the rest of my life. Near held the little box in his hand. "Ready?" "Yeah." "Yeah." "Yep." Near, with sudden ferocity, ripped the top off. I flinched, afraid his left arm would jab me right in the face. But what followed was of no pain whatsoever. It was a cry of joy from Matsuda. "There's an envelope inside!" Near reached inside and pulled it out. He opened it nonchalantly. A small piece of paper was held within. All three of us read it over Near's shoulder, although he read it out loud. "Look up." We looked up, but all we saw was the cieling. G was frusterated, his face twisted in anger. "I don't see anything...what was the point of this?" "Maybe we should go up to the next floor?" I suggested. They all gave me weird stares. Except for Near. He always stared at me. "And what good will come from that?" "I don't know...another note?" I turned to face Near. "What floor is directly above the main hall?" "That would be G's room." "Then up we go." I marched along. Since we were indoors and all the floors were tile, Near had climbed into a computer chair and allowed me to drag him along. Ahem, allowed me to. G's room was pretty generic, a bit dusty, and boring. All the walls were white, those which you could see. Almost all of the walls were covered with computer screens... The computer chair was turned to face us. Another note laid there. This time I picked it up and read it aloud: "Now go to the left. Look in the bucket." "What the hell does that mean?" "Nevermind, just come on." I dragged Near over to the door. The hallways were long and thin, like capillaries. I marched over to the door on the left, labled "Storage." I opened the door and saw a bucket with wheels, ordinarily used for mopping. I reached inside and pulled out another note. I handed it off to Matsuda, who read: "Almost there. Go right of where you were before. Your only female member's favorite magazine is out on the table. They have some good recipes." I sighed. One of Matsuda's eyebrows lifted in interest. I hauled Near off with me. This was aggravating. I checked my door to see if it was locked. It wasn't, of course. Home Cooking was out on the table, opened where I last left it. I turned to the main recipes in the back and another note fell out. This time, G picked it up and read the neat handwriting. "Good job. Thanks for playing my little game. The winner will be announced in 10 days at Rockefeller Plaza. Until then, enjoy some free-time." "Was that it?!" Matsuda grabbed his head and shouted. "All for nothing! Sheesh!" "Let's just forget this. We'll go to Rockefeller in 10 days, just to be sure. But don't worry about it. We have other things to worry over." Near sighed and plopped himself down on my couch.

Chapter 28 Surprise >>>>Part 1<<<<<
Ten days later, we were no closer to Kira than we were before. G was sent back out to look for the Second Kira. So far...it could be anyone. We were in a complete bind, and criminals kept dying... It scared me to think that soon, we'd be dead, too. Seeing all these sickening deaths on TV...pretty soon they'd have to stop burials and just burn the bodies. What would happen to the rest of the world? I -- of course it was me -- was sent out into Rockefeller Plaza to find out what the mysterious notes were all about, Near dragging along behind me. Matsuda monitored us from our van, hidden conveniently just around the corner. Jeez, what wonderful cover, Near. Nothing especially exciting was happening. People swarmed all around us, buzzing about their days. I wondered what their lives were like, if any of them had any idea what these two inconspicuous pedestrians had to do with what was about to happen. I looked around, then turned to Near. "What are we supposed to be looking for?" "Well, I'd say--" He'd been cut off by an ear-piercing scream. Suddenly, from nowhere but up, a man fell to our feet, right in front of us. I screamed. A crack had sounded as he hit the ground. Blood spilled from his skull. I bent down and checked his pulse. Nothing. "I guess that's what we were looking for." Near just stared at the man, his face colder than ancient layers of ice found beneath glaciers in the Arctic Tundra. I looked up, wondering what in the world had happened. Only a few people around us had reacted; a lady with a baby carriage had screamed, and a man had passed out. The others just stood staring, like Near, only wide-eyed, emotional. Something that looked a bit like a bird at first, but larger. Then, in horror, I saw something even worse. It seemed to be a demon from Hell itself. He flew off, into the dark alleyway that we had just passed. "Near, did you see that?" I could barely breathe. As emotionless as ever, he said, "Yes. I've seen it before, actually."
